Cocoanut Grove c1938

Cocoanut Grove by Max Factor: launched in 1938. Named after the nightclub at the Ambassador Hotel.  This perfume was made to be sold exclusively at Hollywood’s most famous night clubs.

Available as "Parfum Cologne", often paired with Max Factor's other perfume Trocadero and sold in a gift set for $2.00, otherwise sold singly for $1.00 a bottle.

So what does it smell like? It has a heavy woody note with undertone reminding of mushrooms.

  • Top notes:
  • Middle notes: gardenia, chocolate, cepes
  • Base notes: woodsy notes, sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, oakmoss, cedar

Discontinued, date unknown. Still being sold in 1946.
