Epris by Max Factor c1981

Épris by Max Factor: launched in 1981.

Épris was represented by Charlie's Angels actress Jaclyn Smith.

"Epris" is the new fragrance introduced by MAX FACTOR. Beautifully packaged in a slim, crystal-like, faceted bottle topped with an oversized silvery cap, "Epris" is a long-lasting, sophisticated, semi-Oriental floral blend."







The fragrance was available in the following:
  • Parfum
  • Parfum Purse Spray
  • Concentrated Cologne Spray 
  • Creme Perfume
  • Dusting Powder

Fragrance Composition:


So what does it smell like? It is classified as a floral mossy animalic chypre fragrance for women. It starts off with an aldehydic top note, followed by an elegant floral heart, layered over a sweet, sensual, powdery base.

Long lasting semi-oriental floral blend combining ylang ylang, carnation, lily of the valley, rose and mimosa with spicy notes of carnation, coriander, basil , clove and aromas of woods, mosses and amber.
  • Top notes: aldehydes, bergamot, estragon, lemon, mimosa, coriander, basil
  • Middle notes: carnation, clove, ylang ylang, lily of the valley, Damascene rose, jasmine, orris
  • Base notes: oakmoss, amber, sandalwood, vetiver, musk, incense, vanilla


Fate of the Fragrance:


Discontinued by 1997.

  2. Epris was the best perfume I ever had and still have some from ebay. Wish Max Factor would bring it back. It would sell so fast.

    1. ABSOLUTELY!!! EPRIS made you glad you were born a woman, but like a woman, you KNEW when NOT to be a “lady” !!! LOL I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT If I remember my French correctly, I believe “EPRIS” loosely means “INFATUATION” or something close to it. But being I can STILL recall the scent AFTER NEARLY FIFTY YRS, I WOULD say it is more than an “INFATUATION”, LOL
